Train The Village

  • Fundamental and advanced training in handgun safety, handling, and marksmanship, designed for both beginners and experienced shooters.

  • Comprehensive rifle training covering safety, shooting techniques, and tactical applications for personal and community defense.

  • Learn advanced driving techniques to evade threats, safely navigate hostile situations, enhance your personal security on the road, improve your ability to navigate challenging environments.

  • Practical self-defense methods designed to equip individuals with the skills to protect themselves in various threat situations. This includes grappling and striking fundamentals. Advanced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction available.

  • Hands-on, scenario-based training to develop awareness of your surroundings and effective responses to real-world threats.

  • Learn how to secure your home and develop security plans to protect your family in the event of an intrusion or emergency.

  • Introduction to life-saving medical techniques, including trauma care, CPR, and the use of tourniquets, to help manage injuries until professional help arrives.

  • Bushcraft is the practice of doing more with less in the great outdoors and utilizing the resources nature provides. With just a handful of tools, one can learn to address survival needs and fashion creature comforts around camp. In an age with heavy emphasis on an overabundance of equipment, it is easy to lose track of traditional skills. This course helps the participant reconnect with nature and the past. The instructor(s) will guide the student through the proper use of knives, fire starting equipment, shelter building, water procurement, and cordage. Depending on resources, additional topics will include camp cooking, wooden tool making, and establishing semi-permanent camp structures.

  • Leadership emerges through experience and adversity. Join TOA instructors who will facilitate opportunities for leadership training in an outdoor setting. Learn how to address problems from various perspectives, how to take inventory of problem-solving resources, delegate responsibility, and share the workload. Participants will learn effective ways to communicate, make decisions, and plan through guided lessons. Whether you are an individual or a team, the Wilderness Leadership course offers guidance into becoming the leader your village deserves.

  • Sometimes the best lessons are learned by doing and observing. The wilderness experience is for the student who wants to be given a list of equipment to purchase and a place to meet. This course provides an appropriate opportunity for a student to join TOA instructor(s) in the field for a 48 hour (Friday Noon to Sunday Noon) wilderness experience in any number of upcoming trips (canoe camping, backpacking, overlanding, etc). This course is more about time in the field than formal training.

  • Learn how to determine position, direction of travel, distance between points, and description of terrain on maps. Learn how to properly use a compass to walk to and from points as well as around them. This course is meant for all levels and is designed to help the student communicate position and movement along routes. Students will learn to measure distance, convert map to compass bearings, resect and triangulate positions and much more.

  • This course provides the hunter the skills that translate to success in the field. Learn best practices for the preseason, how to properly glass with a spotting scope or binoculars, your rifle’s ballistics and the importance of muzzle velocity, set up a spike camp, improve marksmanship through positional rifle shooting, carry the correct equipment to prolong time spent in the backcountry, and deal with emergency “hunt-ending” scenarios. This course is meant for those who have successfully completed their state-sponsored hunter safety course and are ready to take the next step in their training prior to heading out into the field.
